Valeant Pharmaceuticals, the parent company of Kinerase, sponsored a reception and screening of Warner Bros.’ “Charlie And The Chocolate Factory” on July 11 in Westwood, Calif. The event raised more than $100,000 to benefit the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF).
Prior to the screening, guests joined host Courteney Cox and her husband, David Arquette, on the terrace of the Hammer Museum for a prescreening reception. Several celebrities attended the event and received gift bags of Kinerase products and gift cards for WONKA candy.
“We are delighted to have Courteney as our partner and spokesperson for Kinerase and we are privileged to have her on our team,” says Wes Wheeler, Valeant Pharmaceuticals International’s president, North America and Global Commercial Development.
During the event, the company also announced that it will donate 10 percent of its gross August Kinerase Cream sales to the nonprofit EBMRF. Valeant Pharmaceuticals also presented the foundation with a $35,000 check to go toward research efforts for the rare skin disease.
