Discovering The Fountain Of Youth

As a native Arizonan, I firmly understand the importance of proper skincare. Our beautiful, sunny climate allows us to enjoy Mother Nature nearly 365 days a year; however, the excessive heat and dry climate also takes a toll on delicate skin. As we all know, the first rule of thumb for proper skincare is to keep it moist. We do this by drinking at least eight glasses of water daily and also by using some of the best products to nourish and rejuvenate the skin. Additionally, more and more of the American public is turning to non-invasive facial treatments to bring back a youthful and fresh appearance.

This month’s issue focuses on the booming anti-aging market. Nonablative skin rejuvenation is the wave of the future because it goes nicely with more invasive therapies and is an ideal solution to satisfying the anti-aging cravings of those who don’t feel comfortable with surgery. Moreover, it is a series treatment that brings clients back to the spa time and time again. The procedures are quick and relatively pain-free for clients, who leave spas looking better. Spas can capture a piece of the growing anti-aging market with relatively risk-free technology. Our cover story on page 20 and the Tools Of The Trade column on page 14 provide insight into some of the most popular non-invasive facial treatments and methods to market those services in the spa setting. We also provided an anti-aging showcase highlighting some of the newest products and equipment choices on the market.

On a personal note, I want to thank those of you who have supported this new endeavor. The outpouring of compliments and feedback from our readers, advertisers and suppliers we’ve met a recent trade shows encouraged us to further our mission within the pages of SPA 20/20 magazine. Beginning in 2005, the magazine will be published bimonthly. Our mantra is to provide real-world advice, business solutions, products and education to those decision makers serving the marketplace. Our editorial commitment provides comprehensive, concise and thought-provoking articles aimed at providing today’s spa professionals the edge they need to succeed.

As always, we welcome your thoughts. Please feel free to contact me at (480) 990-1101, ext. 1119 or e-mail me at jbizzozero@vpico.com with any suggestions, story ideas or just to chat about the spa industry.
